Devsplained is all about explaining what a career as a Software Developer is all about through short videos and blog posts.

When I left college, I thought I could build anything. I felt like I could take the world on. After learning that I was naive, I learned that I knew the very basics of what “real world” software development is all about.

Over the course of my own career as a developer, I keep learning new things. Every job is different, every language is different, even the cultures of each company are different. No matter where you are in your own career, you will always learn new things.

Devsplained will show you how the world of software development functions. From resumes, code standards, talking to clients, all the way to system design and beyond. Of course, Devsplained isn’t tailored to you, it is just showing you what I learned along the way, hoping you can get a better sense of what it means to be a professional Software Developer.

Why Devsplained though? Why not get your information somewhere else? Why not just learn along the way? The reason you might follow this vlog/blog is because of its cost (free!), format (video + blog post), and me!

Hi, my name is Tyler, and I am the creator of Devsplained. I’ve been a developer since 2000 and a professional developer since 2007. I’ve worked in several fields and I’ve learned a lot. I’ve had some really great mentors along the way, and I think I can pass that knowledge on to you through Devsplained.
